THE hunt is on for thieves who stole a statue of a half-naked woman from a garden in West Dorset.
The classic Roman-style statue was taken from the garden on the High Street in Burton Bradstock at around 12.50am on Friday October 12.
The statue measures five feet high and is made of concrete.
A picture has been released and Dorset Police are keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone who has been offered the statue in ‘strange circumstances, seen it for sale or found it abandoned’.
Police Constable Sean Cannon, of Bridport police, said: “The owner of the statue, a 76-year-old man from Bridport, believes he heard noises in his front garden and decided to investigate.
“When he reached his front door he noticed the statue had gone and heard a vehicle speeding off.”
Anyone with information can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
