A VICAR had a 60th birthday surprise – a very special onesie.
The clothing garment is an all in one fleecy suit and was specially created by St Paul’s Church youth club in Weymouth.
The youth group presented the onesie to Father Richard Harper at a surprise 60th birthday party.
The group have evenings where everyone wears their onesie but Father Harper didn’t have one.
His vicar onesie is black with a white collar stitched on and the group even got someone to embroider ‘I Love God’ onto it.
The group also wrote a poem for him.
Deanne O’Beirne, who helps at the youth club, said Father Harper had been trying to keep his birthday quiet and so the group told him they were having a Christmas party, and when he turned up, surprised him with a birthday bash.
Deanne said Father Harper was a lovely person and he helped out when the youth group went on day trips.
She added that the youngsters wanted to do something for Father Harper to say thank you for his help.
She said: “He’s a very special person.”
