A ‘MARVELLOUS’ mum was given a party to celebrate her 103rd birthday.
Family, friends and dignitaries held a surprise party at The Lawns in Weymouth as Maggie Legg turned 103 years old.
The Mayoress of Weymouth Pamela Nixon attended, as well as the Mayor and Mayoress of Chickerell, Gill and John Dean.
Mrs Nixon presented Mrs Legg with a bouquet of flowers to mark her milestone birthday and Mrs Legg thanked everyone for attending and the staff at The Lawns for their help on the day.
Charlie, Mrs Legg’s great grandson, sang On The Street Where You Live from My Fair Lady called.
Born in Sutton Poyntz, Mrs Legg lived most of her life in Chickerell. Mrs Legg has known John Dean, the Mayor of Chickerell, all his life.
Mrs Legg has six children and 68 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Son Mick said Mrs Legg was an ‘amazing lady’ and called all her children every day.
He said: “She’s marvellous.”
