A WEYMOUTH woman celebrated her 103rd birthday surrounded by friends and family.

Joyce Kemp was 103 years young on January 29 and celebrated with her friends and family at Legh House, Abbyfield Weymouth Society home.

Her daughters Lesley and Dennie were among those who came to celebrate and Mrs Kemp’s room was filled with flowers from well-wishers.

Mrs Kemp, who came to live at Legh House in 2012, had a quiet lunch with her daughters and friends.

She is an active member of St Paul’s Church and has a wide circle of friends and her hobbies include a lot of reading.

Manager at Legh House Julia White said staff presented her with a rose for her special day, which will be planted in the garden.

She said: “She is delightful – a wonderful lady.”
