WEYMOUTH is the key to one couple celebrating ten happy years together.

Chantelle Oswin and Clive Merritt met while working at Weymouth Bay Holiday Park, back in 2004.

Chantelle was working as a singer and watched Clive audition with his band.

He sang Hero by Enrique Iglesias, and Chantelle said to a friend that she was going to marry him – as she always wanted a man who could sing to her.

The couple got together and lived in Weymouth for six years, performing in bands. They now live in Oxfordshire but they returned to Weymouth for Chantelle’s birthday.

While the couple were walking down Stone Pier, accompanied by their families, Clive got out his guitar and sang Happy Birthday to Chantelle.

He then sang Hero for her, before getting down on one knee. Chantelle said: “I was cheering and dancing with my family and I turned round and he was on the floor, on one knee.”

The couple will be getting married in September in Oxfordshire but said they will be having an event in Weymouth too, as they love the area so much.

To mark the ten year anniversary of them first getting together, the happy couple will be returning to Weymouth with their families later this year.
