A GROUP of Weymouth netballers united to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of their team awards.

Players for Bay Publishing were out in force for the event, which also marked the end of the netball winter season.

Each player was asked to vote for two team awards before they were counted and awarded to the winners at Moby Dicks on Weymouth seafront.

The Players’ Player Award went to Chantelle McCrystal for the fourth time in the previous six seasons.

Chantelle was praised for her ability to play all positions to a high standard and for being a great motivator on the court.

The second award, Most Improved Player, went to recent addition to the team, Emma Walker.

The team also recently celebrated player Emily Park and her achievement on obtaining her C Award in umpiring.

Earlier in the season, Bay Publishing was also highly recognised by being given the award for fair play and good conduct, while on the same night Chantelle was awarded with her gold beginners umpiring award.

Player manager Carrie Dench said: “I would like to thank everyone for their continued commitment to an amazing netball team.

“It has been 10 years since these awards were started and it is a great way to celebrate our achievements.

“Let’s hope they continue for many more years.”
