A CHARITY trustee from Dorset was showered with cards, flowers and gifts on her 90th birthday.

Relate Dorset celebrated the 90th birthday of trustee Georgie Harries with a party.

Mrs Harries works with the Dorset and South Wiltshire group, which helps to provide counselling and therapy for individuals, couples, families and young people.

Emily Stafford, the youngest trustee presented her senior counterpart with flowers, gifts and a cake from the organisation in recognition of Mrs Harries’s many years of support and service on her landmark birthday.

A spokesman for Relate congratulated Mrs Harries on her landmark birthday and thanked her for all her hard work over the years.

She said: “Relate has changed a lot over the years that Georgie has been involved and many people might not realise the broad range of services we offer locally, such as counselling for children, young people and families.

“Georgie remains on the board as our compassion monitor, making sure we remember our core aim of supporting people who are struggling with their relationships.”
