A WEYMOUTH family have welcomed a new daughter.

Lisa and Colin Russ, from Weymouth, said they were ‘over the moon’ to welcome baby Eva Mai Maria Russ into their family.

She is a baby sister to Scarlett, who will be two on May 30.

Baby Eva was born prematurely on March 24 via emergency caesarean section at Dorset County Hospital and taken to Southampton General Hospital.

She has had a couple of operations on her bowel, but she is putting on weight well and has gone from 4lbs 5oz to 6lbs 3oz. The family have been driving to see her every day and are hoping she will soon be home.

Mrs Russ said the sisters had different personalities. She said: “Eva is just like Scarlett looks wise but not personality wise.

“She’s quiet, where Scarlett is loud all the time. Eva is chilled out.”

Scarlett adores her little sister and is herself doing really well.

Mrs Russ said: “She’s doing brilliantly, gaining weight and growing as she should. She’s been really well.”
