A MUSICAL legend and a poetic genius were the inspiration behind the name of one new arrival.

Little Dylan Frazer was born on Saturday March 3 weighing 7lbs 10oz at Dorset County Hospital.

He arrived four days early and his parents took three hours to decide on a name and were inspired by both musician Bob Dylan and poet Dylan Thomas.

Proud first-time mum Miriam Phillips, 28, said that she and her partner were delighted by the new addition to their family.

She said: “Since coming home Dylan has been a healthy boy and has put on lots of weight in his first few weeks.

“He is happiest when paying under his jungle play gym.”

The family said they would like to thank the staff at the hospital for all their help.

Miss Phillips said: “The midwives from the maternity ward at DCH should really be praised because they were fantastic throughout my pregnancy and birth. I’m really grateful for all their help and support.

“It was so nice to bring Dylan home and start our new family life together – since then there has been quite a few sleepless nights but he is very cute so he is worth the sleep deprivation.

“I can see why people say being a parent is the hardest job in the world.”

She added: “The first few weeks have been pretty mental, with lots of visitors wanting cuddles with the new addition to the household.

“Dylan already has lots of new friends from antenatal and aquanatal classes to keep us occupied.”
