A DORSET couple had their perfect big day surrounded by friends and family.

Ellie Rowsell, 30, a TV producer, and James Harper, 31, a project manager for The Watercress Company, from Winterborne Clenston tied the knot at Higher Melcombe Manor in Melcombe Bingham.

They were joined by 140 guests for the day. The couple reared their own pigs for the hog roast and had a vintage theme with bunting and accessories from Vintage Dorset.

The couple said they would like to thank all their family and friends who made the day so special.

The bride said: β€œThe wedding was amazing. It was an incredible day. The sun shone and it was a little windy. We had wonderful people there – it was great.”

The couple met at the Dorset tourist hotspot of Monkey World and the groom proposed on a surprise weekend away to Venice, Italy.

The happy couple started their honeymoon at Summer Lodge near Evershot before going to Burgh Island in Devon where Agatha Christie wrote many of her books.
