A COUPLE from Weymouth celebrated their wedding after meeting on an internet dating site.

Mark Smith, 35, and Tina Watkins, 36, have lived in Weymouth all their lives but had their first ever encounter in cyberspace as they were both members of the internet dating website Smooch.

Their first date was in a coffee shop where in a bid to impress her, Mark ordered a frappuccino even though he'd never had one before and had no idea what it was.

They still joke about his embarrassment when the drink arrived and it was nothing like what he had expected.

Tina said: “We just clicked straight away. I’d just lost my Nan after looking after her for ten years and so I was still grieving, I was going out and drinking all the time and went on a lot of terrible dates.”

Tina also said that after having three teenagers already, she never expected to meet someone else and for things to become so serious.

The couple, of Kitchener Road, have a son together, Alfie, two.

They were married at All Saints Church, Wyke Regis by the Rev Deborah Smith who Tina said was very helpful in advising her about the wedding plans.

Tina organised the wedding herself, even surprising husband Mark at the reception with a Lady Gaga tribute act, All About Gaga. The reception was held at Wellworthy Sports and Social Club.

All the family and friends attended and the bride had six bridesmaids including her best friend, her sister, and their daughters.

Mark and Tina celebrated with a honeymoon in Los Angeles and then Las Vegas where they didn’t let losing in the casinos ruin their good time.
