10:07am Friday 25th April 2008

Sir Anthony Jolliffe GBE presided at the annual meeting of the Society of Dorset Men, held this year at the Olive Bowl in Gillingham.

"The society stands in excellent shape," chairman Roy Adam MBE told the members, noting it was exactly 25 years since he became chairman and Sir Anthony was elected president.

"We salute your unfailing drive and interest for the wellbeing of the society," Roy Adam said in praising Sir Anthony.

He added: "Our membership is 1,223, the highest ever in our history."
