Celebrations

Party success
PORTLANDER Carola Northcott-
Deacon, who now lives in
Weymouth, returned to the island to
celebrate her 70th birthday with a
proper Portland do'.
This was held at the Jubilee Hall
with a seafood buffet and dancing to
the music of Pzazz, whose vocalist
serenaded her with the Commodores
hit Three Times a Lady.
Carola said: "Instead of gifts, I had
asked for cash donations for charity
and was able to donate £500 to
Portland Bill Coastwatch Station and
£200 to CLIC-Sergeant in Weymouth."
Carola is pictured with John Watts
and Geoff Peters from the National
Coastwatch Institution.
