Lifeboat funding
WELLWISHERS have presented money to
Weymouth lifeboats. The donations included
£200 raised at the Weymouth Bowls Tournament
and £1,500 from the Weavers Arms in Hinckley,
Leicestershire.
In the picture above, from left to right, are Allan
Birch from Weymouth Lifeboat, Angie Bertram,
Dave Wise, John Crabb, all of Weymouth Bowls
tournament, and lifeboat crew member Nigel Carr
receiving the cheque.
In the second picture coxswain Andy Sargent and
second mechanic Kevin Goddard receive the
cheque from Kevin Bridgewater, of the Weavers
Arms, Hinckley Leicestershire. The money was
raised through events in the Weavers Arms.
Lifeboat spokesman Allan Birch said:
"Unfortunately the money was stolen during a
robbery on New Years Day, so Mr Bridgewater has
kindly made the money up from his own pocket,
for which we are very grateful."
