Celebrations

Surgery walkers
STAFF from the Royal Crescent Surgery
in Weymouth have stepped forward to
raise money for charity.
Wendy Bainbridge recently completed her
11th London Marathon, in five hours, in aid of
the Weldmar Hospice Trust. Fundraisers
include June Reed and Tina Carter, who are
taking part in the Moonwalk in London on
May 17. This will be June's third Moonwalk,
and Tina's first. Leanne Birch and four
colleagues will be taking part in the Race for
Life in Poole on May 11.
Other members of staff are also running in
the Kingston Maurward Race for Life on June
8 and the British 10K run on July 6 in aid of
the women's refuge.
June Reed, from the surgery, said:
"Whatever our roles within the practice we all
come into contact with people suffering from
cancer or at risk of domestic violence.
"This is our way of helping these people.
"A sum of £224.90 has already been raised
within the surgery following a karaoke night
and other various activities."
Sponsor the staff members at the surgery
in Crescent Street, Weymouth.
