A delegation of French Christians will visit the Diocese of Salisbury this weekend.
Roman Catholics from the Diocese of Évreux will take part in visits to schools in Dorchester as well as meet Weymouth’s street pastors.
They will also visit an environmental project at the Hilfield Friary and meet the Bishop of Salisbury, the Rt Rev Dr David Stancliffe.
Dr Stancliffe said: “Though divided by the Channel, Évreux and Salisbury share common challenges, as largely rural dioceses with one populous urban area. So our link is helping us explore together the issues of lay training and leadership, and the deployment of ordained ministers over wide areas.”
The Diocese of Salisbury was twinned with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Évreux in 1987 to improve mutual understanding and collaboration between the French Roman Catholic Church and the Church of England.
