A REVAMPED family service for churchgoers in Wool has been hailed a success for helping bring together people of different ages.
Holy Rood Church leaders decided their informal family service was not drawing in as many worshippers as it should and decided to make some changes.
One of the biggest was to stop hosting it in church on a Sunday.
A parish spokesman said: “The new, monthly Revive service has been introduced because members of Holy Rood Church recognised the current informal family worship service was not attracting as wide a range of people as it could because Sunday morning is not always the best time for families with children.
“There was something for all ages in the service, which began in earnest earlier this month, with stories and games being used to illustrate the theme of the service, which was the idea of God’s power in our world and lives, and plenty of hearty singing as well.”
Another change for the new look service, attended by 60 people, was to host it at Wool First School.
Parish vicar, the Rev Rhona Floate, added said: “Revive has got off to a great start and families with children have welcomed the new time and venue.”
