MOVIE MESSAGE: The Rev Ian Hobbs, Barbara White and Jon Orrell
MOVIES with a moral message are being shown in a Weymouth church in an effort to reach out to the community.
The themes of slavery, capitalism and the environment will be explored during the mini-film festival taking place at St Aldhelm's Church,Spa Road.
The Rev Ian Hobbs and Dr John Orrell set up the event after being inspired to by fellow Christian Barbara White, 80.
Dr Orrell said: "Barbara had wanted to show Hotel Rwanda at her home but could only have around five people in at a time.
"Ian and I thought it was a wonderful idea to try to raise awareness in the community about issues like global warming and Africa through showing films."
Dr Orrell added that he went out of his way to get the appropriate licences to be able to show films legally at the church.
