  • ST ANDREW'S Church, West Stafford is being decorated ready for Easter from 10am today (Sat) onwards. Everyone is welcome.

  • CANDLES will be lit at an Easter Eve service beginning at 8pm this evening (Sat) at St Mary's Church, Dorchester. The Easter vigil will include a collective renewal of baptismal promises.

  • A PRAYER service marking Easter Eve will begin at St Peter's Church, West Knighton at 6.30pm this evening (Sat).

  • A CEREMONY of lights and an Easter vigil will begin at 8pm at St Peter's Church, Dorchester on Easter Day. A dawn service will also be held in Maiden Castle car park at 6.30am. There will be a 'said mass' at 8am and a 'sung high mass' with a procession at 9.45am followed by an Easter egg hunt for the children. Holy communion will begin at 9am at St Peter's Church, Dorchester on Easter Day and parish communion at 10.30am. Evensong will begin at 6.30pm. Anyone is welcome to bring flowers to put on the Easter cross during any of these services.

  • AN EASTER fire will be lit at St Catherine's Church, Holworth near Owermoigne at 6am on Easter Day. Organisers encourage people to bring a picnic breakfast and a torch. Easter family communion services will begin at 9am at St Peter's Church, West Knighton and at 10am at St Martin's Church, Broadmayne on Easter Day. The service at St Martin's will be followed by a children's Easter egg hunt.

  • ALL are welcome to join in the 6am sunrise service on Easter Day (23) on the East Pier at West Bay. Organisers urge people to bring a torch, and bacon sandwiches will be served after the service. A Churches Together in Bridport songs of praise service will be held in Bridport United Church at 6.30pm that evening.

  • The Palestine Israel Peace Group will host a talk entitled 'Religious co-existence in history - why is it so wobbly today?' by Palestinian writer and social commentator Faysal Mikdadi at 7.30pm at the United Church, South Street, Dorchester on Thursday (27).
