KEY CONTRIBUTION: Church organist John Savage accepts a long service certificate from The Rev David Plumb
YEARS of service by a musician to a Weymouth church have been recognised and rewarded by its vicar.
Organist John Savage was presented with a long service award by the Rev David Plumb of Maiden Street Methodist Church, Weymouth, at a circuit service.
The certificate was presented to him to say thank you for his years of service to the church.
Methodist circuit steward Sally Hudson said: "Mr Savage has been an organist for the Maiden Street Methodist Church for more than 40 years now.
"He has played for numerous services, including weddings, funerals and christenings, and not only at the Maiden Street church but also at various other churches throughout the area."
