A FOND farewell was bade to the Rev Dru Dennis as she and another pianist entertained churchgoers in Dorchester.
Mrs Dennis and Paul Oakes performed musical pieces written for two pianos by Mozart, Haydn and other composers at St Mary's Church in Edward Road.
The event was an informal goodbye for Mrs Dennis, who is leaving the county soon to work for a new ministry on the Isle of Wight.
Mrs Dennis said: "It was quite hard really doing the goodbyes but I called the event an evening with friends before we held it because that's what it was really." Mrs Dennis also read poems at the farewell do, which was attended by around 100 people, including Blame the Vicar by Sir John Betjeman.
She added: "I'm looking forward to the new post and it should be an exciting new opportunity and a new challenge."
A collection for children's activities run through the church was also made at the end of the event and raised a total of £350.
