  • AN INDOOR tabletop and car boot sale will take place at the Emmanuel Church, Southill, Weymouth today from 2pm to 4pm.

    Entry will cost 20p and refreshments will be available.

  • A COFFEE and bring and buy sale being held in aid of the Nagongera well project will continue at Maureen Shaw's home of 10 Glebeland Close, West Stafford until 12.30pm today.

    All are welcome. The well project will benefit Nagongera and five other Ugandan villages.

  • AN EVANGELISM committee of Churches Together on Portland will meet at 4pm in the Southwell room of the Easton Methodist Church, Portland on Tuesday.

    A St George's Day Eucharist will begin at 10am on Wednesday at St George's Church, Portland.

    There will also be a meeting of Churches Together on Portland at the church at 7pm on the same day. On Thursday there will be a soup and cheese lunch, beginning at noon, in the hall of St John the Baptist's Church.

  • THE Rev Jean Thorne will lead a quiet day at the Burton Bradstock rectory on Friday.

    Organisers say there will be a light-hearted look at St Mark plus spiritual exercises and crafts.

  • A MARKET will run from 2pm to 3.30pm in St Martin's community hall, Broadmayne next to the village church on Friday.

    The produce on sale will include fair trade goods, Dorset sausages and fresh coffee.

  • THE 750-year history of Salisbury Cathedral will be retold in words and images in an exhibition which will officially begin on Friday.

    The Salisbury 750' exhibition will show how the cathedral has changed over the years since its foundation stones were laid in the year 1220. The exhibition, which is free to attend, is due to finish on September 30.

  • CHURCHES Together in Dorset is holding a Rogationtide farm tour and worship on Friday.

    The event at Gore Farm, Trent, near Sherborne, starts at 6.30pm and will include refreshments, with an offering taken for the Addington Fund.

    The tour will start at the Rose and Crown pub in Trent. For more information about the evening contact Jean Coates on 01305 852435.

    SARUM Voices choir and a small professional chamber orchestra led by Daphne Moody will give a performance of Handel's oratorio Messiah at St Martin's Church, Salisbury today at 7.30pm.

    Tickets are £10 each and are available from Salisbury Playhouse box office by calling 01722 320333 or on the door on the night.
