Twenty-one years of luncheons
 |
| Luncheon Club members celebrate |
COWLEAZE Luncheon Club celebrated 21 years of serving a monthly lunch to the older residents of Broadmayne and West Knighton.
Three original members of the first volunteers, Hilary McVey, Margaret Mortimer and Jane Trevorah are still part of the team today.
The first menu was beef casserole and dumplings followed by apple crumble and custard, while the 21st anniversary lunch was beef cobbler followed by pavlova, all washed down with a glass of sparking wine.
The success of the club throughout the 21 years is due to the willing volunteers who give their time and talents to an occasion which is very much appreciated by those who partake of the lunch.
The success continues with a recent 20% expansion of numbers, giving a lively atmosphere in Broadmayne village hall.
