Kindergarten's new sign is in place
MARGARET looks proudly at the sign above the door of Naduri Sunny Smiles Kindergarten, which Children of Fiji has had constructed on the island of Vanua Levu.
The beautiful wooden sign was made by Bill Foote of Cattistock and started its journey to Fiji on February11, when we delivered it to Heathrow for Qantas to fly out to Fiji with the rest of the charity goods.
On arrival in Fiji, we then had the challenge of getting the sign over to Naduri.
This involved a two-hour bumpy bus ride, four hours on a boat, another five hours in a second bus on muddy tracks, a truck ride to the edge of the village and finally a walk through the mud to the kindergarten!
Villagers were thrilled with the sign and the boxes of pre-school resources, and really appreciate all the support they have received from the UK.
