Villagers enjoy Easter treat for walkabout funds
CATTISTOCK villagers and visitors tuck into hot cross buns at the Garden Walkabout Coffee Morning, held on Easter Saturday in the Savill Hall.
The event raised a magnificent total of £200.23 (after deductions for expenses).
The coffee morning was the first of three annual Garden Walkabout events. On May 17 there will be a plant sale, also in the Savill Hall, starting at 10.30am.
This is an excellent chance of buying some plants at bargain prices, ready for the final of the three events - the Cattistock Garden Walkabout itself on June 29.
This is always a popular event, with 15 or more gardens, some large and some small, open to the public. Keep an eye open for more details nearer the time.
All profits from these events will be shared between Dorchester Hospital Special Care Baby Unit and the charity Facing the World, which brings children with facial disfigurements from Third World and developing countries to the UK to undergo reconstructive surgery.
