Cerne Abbas
A REMINDER that if you are planning to join the beating the bounds initiative on Sunday, April 27 it is time to return the tear-off slip to its initiator Mike Clark.
This is so the organisers have an idea of how many will take part in what is an attempt to revive an age-old tradition.
Copies of the forms are available from Cerne Abbas Stores. The aim is to walk the Cerne Abbas and Nether Cerne Boundaries as closely as possible, a route that totals approximately 14 miles.
A detailed view of the map can be viewed in the bus shelter opposite The Giant Inn.
Participants are welcome to walk part or all of the way and the day will finish with a barbecue at The New Inn.
Tickets for the barbecue will be for sale from April 1, also from Cerne Abbas Stores.
They cost £5 for adults and £2.50 for children less than 10 years of age. Everyone is welcome to this barbecue, walkers or non-walkers.
If you would like more information about this event, contact Mike Clark on 01300 341269/341082.
