APRIL sees the start of Nappy Week and there will be members of staff from Dorset County Council and West Dorset District Council who are supporting this initiative and a representative from a real nappy company, Lollipop, attending the Jump Start session at willowbed hall on Tuesday, April 22.
All representatives will be available to members of Jump Start but if anyone from the village would like to come along at the end of the sessions, from 11.20am to meet and have a chat about anything concerning this subject, please feel free to do so.
Alternatively if you would like to come along with your child/children to participate in a Jump Start session then the session times are 9.30am for under 2's and 10.30am for over 2's and they run for forty five minutes.
The sessions are priced at £2.50 on a pay as you go basis and run every Tuesday during term time at the willowbed hall.
They offer fun, physical activity sessions for children under five and have purpose built wooden and soft play equipment to provide fun and learning in a friendly environment.
There is also a large selection of smaller equipment and toys which will develop balance and co-ordination, colour, number and shape recognition, hand to eye co-ordination, problem solving, social skills and sharing.
For further information look on the website, www.jumpstartdorset.co.uk or you can telephone Becky on 889250, email her at becky@jumpstartdorset.co.uk or just turn up on the day.
Next month on Tuesday, May 6 they will be having a representative from the National Childbirth Trust attending their sessions. If you ever wondered what the group was about then here's your chance to find out and ask questions.
THE willowbed hall management committee are asking for people to come forward who would be interested in joining a short mat bowls club.
They have been contacted by someone from Southill Community Centre who is willing to help with the initial set up of such a club.
Their club has been very successful for the past 6 years and there is no reason why Chickerell could not have a successful club as well if enough people come forward and express their interest.
