Villagers get into the groove for party

OVER 100 villagers and friends were in the village hall for the annual Christmas supper dance organised by Pauline Macey on behalf of the trustees of the hall.

It was another event to raise funds for our hall extension and everyone attending seemed to enjoy themselves and kept Colin and Heather Pook very busy working at the bar throughout the evening.

Good thing the Monday afterwards was a recycling day!

There was a record sale of both wines and beers with several different wines and a choice of beers, there seemed to be something for everyone, although scotch, gin and brandy were also in demand together with a variety of soft drinks.

Colin Pook extends his grateful thanks to Pauline and her band of helpers and friends, and to all those who stayed late to help clear the tables, wash glasses and sweep floors etc.

With all bills paid a record £624 was raised by this event.

This, together with the Christmas Bingo and Autumn Bazaar has added nearly £1200 to the building fund in under a month.

Colin Pook, Chairman of the Trustees would like to say: "Well done everyone! Here's to 2008!"
