WITH the end of the football season, Crossways FC have once again had a marvellous season and have crowned their achievements with the league two championship title. The last six games saw the team on a winning streak including a satisfying win over the hot favourites Upwey & Broadwey.
A FEW weeks ago I mentioned the wonderful work that Richard Backwell of Sutton Poyntz is doing to improve the living conditions of villagers in Nepal, and that he had turned his attention to a sewing project which would enable the women of two villages to make clothes for themselves and their families. This meant Richard needed sewing machines and asked if anyone had an old hand operated ones that they would be happy to donate.

St George's Day was celebrated in fine style with a glass of bubbly and ploughman's supper provided by the Committee of the club, with, as you would expect, dancing to music provided by Terry and Betty Adair. A good time was had by all.
CHICKERELL United football club, the chickens, will always look back on the 2007/08 season as being one of, if not the greatest, season in their history.
