THIS is a reminder to all residents of Affpuddle, Briantspuddle and Turnerspuddle that the AGM of the village hall committee takes place on Wednesday May 7 at 7.30pm.
The AGM usually lasts no longer that one hour, and is your opportunity to let the committee know if it is meeting the needs of the community, and to ask any questions you might have about hall management and future plans.
THERE is to be a coffee morning in aid of St Laurence's church funds on Saturday May 17 from 10am until noon.

This will be at Launchfield, Briantspuddle, the home of David and Christine Coates.
There will be all sorts of stalls, and contributions for these would be most appreciated.

DON'T forget to set those alarm clocks for the Wildlife Group's dawn chorus bird walk on Sunday May 11, starting at 5am.
This will begin from the car park at Briantspuddle village hall.
Nick Tomlinson from the RSPB is kindly leading the walk with helpers.
The walk will last two to two and a half hours and will be followed by a bacon butty and tea or coffee in the village hall.
Ticket numbers are limited, available from Briantspuddle village shop.
Please wear stout footwear.

There will be a few pairs of binoculars to borrow, but please bring your own if you have them.
AT THE Aprill meeting of the parish council, councillors began the process of securing a bus shelter for Briantspuddle.
Timetables had been received from Damory Coaches for the 387 service, which has been extended.
Timetables are available from the village shop.
Councillors continued their efforts to persuade the county council to bring a swift resolution to the illegal travellers' camp at Sares Wood.
The director of environmental services at the county council has the responsibility for traveller issues.
He will be invited to visit the camp to witness the impact it is having on the community.
The parish council, along with other interested parties, has been able to secure from the county council a commitment to certain improvements along the B3390.
This includes consultation on a traffic regulation order to restrict the size of vehicles that use the B3390 and road improvements at Hurst Bridge.
Councillor Nick Gore receives a number of helpful and informative emails from the neighbourhood watch team, and he is happy to forward these to anyone who would be interested.
