Pact meeting coming up
THE next Littlemoor Pact - Partners and Community Together - meeting will be held at Bincombe Court, Hamilton Close, on Wednesday, February 6 at 7.30pm.
If there is anything that you would like to discuss with the police or the housing associations, this is the ideal time to do it as representatives will be at the meeting.
At the last meeting we had the company of Justin Elliott, implementation team leader of the Western Division Safer Neighbourhood Team, Richard Barwick, estate supervisor for Knighstone Housing, Magnolia and Clivia Close, Debbie Oswald, anti-social behaviour case worker for the Crime Reduction and Disorder Partnership (CDRP) Weymouth and Portland Borough Council and the police and Deborah Nicholas, housing officer for Knighstone Housing.
Referring to the priorities from the last meeting Councillor Mark Tewkesbury informed us that the contract for the new bus shelters was hopefully due to be signed any day.
The police then updated us with the fact that they had only been called to one case of fireworks being let off inappropriately and three calls of anti-social behaviour.
Everyone agreed that it had been really quiet in the area recently.
New priorities to be tackled over the next six weeks were dog fouling on the pavements and the motorbikes that had made an unwelcome return over the top fields during the last couple of weeks.
On Wednesday, February 6 there will be a winter work party (free) from 10am until 3pm at the Lorton Meadows Wildlife Reserve.
This is a chance to join in for a day of practical work on the site, to restore the habitats important for local wildlife with Lisa Gravett the people and wildlife officer.
Tools, gloves and drinks will be supplied. You are advised to wear warm waterproof clothing and suitable footwear, please bring your lunch with you.
