Resurfacing to go ahead at last
THE long-awaited and much needed resurfacing of the Dorchester Road is to be carried out next month.
Work is due to begin on the stretch of road from Morrisons to the South of Lodmoor Hill on Monday, April 14.
It is expected to take two to three weeks for the work to be completed.
ST ALDHELM'S Church Friday Night Friends are holding a beetle drive this Friday
March 14 at 7.45pm in the church lounge.
The invitation is to come and join in some noisy fun', with beetles being provided as well as tea or coffee etc.
A PARISH walk is planned for Saturday, March 29.
Walkers will meet at St. Aldhelm's at 10am for transport, or at 10.30 on the road next to the Riviera Hotel, Bowleaze for the beginning of the walk, which will take the inland route to The Smugglers Inn for lunch, after which the coastal path will be followed for the return.
It is expected that the morning walk will take some four hours and two hours in the afternoon.
THE residents' community meeting to be held at St Augustine's Church Hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday, April 2 is certain to attract a large attendance.
The headline speaker is Steve Pitt, Dorset County Council's director of community services, and he will be speaking on some very topical issues.
There will be a panel of councillors and environmental group organisers. The police will be participating in the PACT meeting that will also be featured and there will be a report on actions taken as a result of the previously listed issues for attention at the last meeting.
