Sports club to hold quiz night

Bere Regis

  • BERE Regis sports club has a quiz night on Friday May 23 at 7.30pm at the club.

    Tickets cost £10 per team of four people, and this will include a curry or hotpot supper.

    The quiz master for the evening is Geoff Adams.

    There are super prizes to be won, and everyone is welcome.

  • BERE Regis scout group has a Midsummer Madness Spectacular and auction of promises on Friday June 20 at Morden village hall from 7.30pm until midnight.

    Tickets cost £15, and this includes fabulous food and groovy sounds from Chill.

    There is no bar - bring the tipple of your choice.

    The dress code is hippy Heaven or black tie.

  • THERE is to be a grand Bere Regis duck race and barbecue in aid of church funds on Friday June 6 from 7pm until 9pm at the scout hut in Elder Road.

    There will be races at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.

    The first prize will be £10, second prize £5 and the third prize will be a bottle of wine.

    There will also be a raffle and other stalls.

    Please buy a duck for £1 and come along and join in.

  • THE Rotary Club of Wareham present The Wurzels at Rye Hill Farm Bere Regis on Friday May 30.

    Gates open at 6.30pm.

    There will be free car parking, a hog roast and pay bar.

    Tickets cost £15 and are available from Rye Hill Farm, telephone 01929 472327.

    Profits from the evening will be in aid of Rotary charities.

  • THERE is to be a live theatre performance in the Drax Hall on the evening of Tuesday June 10.

    The Off the Wall Ensemble is a local, Dorchester-based company.

    Their play is entitled The Voyage, and is the story of a wealthy 18th century lady who is sentenced to transportation for life for the murder of her husband.

    Tickets cost £5 each, and are available at the door on the evening.

  • A TASTER session for those new to digital photography is to be held in Briantspuddle village hall on Thursday May 29 at 7.30pm.

    This will be a talk given by Paul Overton, a lecturer in digital photography at Kingston Maurward college.

    There will be a break for refreshments during the evening.

    No experience is necessary as the session is set at an introductory level.

    It will be ideal if you have a digital camera and want to make use of more of its features, or if you are thinking of getting a digital camera for the first time.

    All are welcome.

    Tickets can be bought in advance at the village shop, or are available from Philippa Thornily on 01929 471497.

    You can also pay at the door.

    The cost is £2.50, to include refreshments.
