AT THE suggestion of a number of residents, the village shop committee is organising a photographic competition within the villages of the parish with the intention of using the winning entries to produce postcards and a calendar for sale in the shop later in the year.
Prizes will be awarded.
The conditions for the competition are as follows:
*The competition will run from May1 until July 31, 2008. No entries will be received after the later date.
*Photographs taken before the above dates may be entered.
*The committee will arrange for the competition to be judged by the residents at an exhibition or event being held during August, 2008.
*All entries must be presented as photographic prints in 6x4 size.
*The theme of the pictures shall be local to the villages of the parish, and if possible, seasonal.
*The copyright of the winning pictures shall lie with the organisers, and they shall have the right to use them as they see fit.
*The number of entries shall be limited to five per person.
*In the event of a very large number of entries, the organising committee shall arrange a pre-selection of entries to go forward to the judging.
*In the event of insufficient entries being received to fulfil the intention of the competition it shall be declared null and void.
*In the event of any dispute, the decision of the organising committee shall be final.
*Entries should be enclosed in a sealed envelope marked Photographic Competition, and the entrant's name, and should be handed in to the village shop.
Each print should also be identified on the reverse side with the entrant's name, using an adhesive label.
