Taxman's Olympic help for Dorset residents

Dorset residents thinking of letting property when the 2012 Olympic Games Sailing events come to Weymouth can obtain free help from the taxman tomorrow.

Commercial letting agents are also invited to attend the free advice events organised HM Revenue and Customs which take place at Weymouth’s National Sailing Academy on Tuesday 9 March 2010. The seminars start at 10.30am and 2pm.

Jacky Scarlett, HM Revenue and Customs 2012 Olympics education project manager, said: “HMRC will be offering practical advice and essential information to Dorset residents about the tax implications of receiving income from property.”

Haha.. the taxman had to stick his ore in sooner or later.
Wave goodbye to the olympic cash cow. No doubt the govt are already planning what to spend a fair portion of your rental earnings on!
The idea of camping in the garden while you rent your house to some rich city folk for a quick buck suddenly becomes a pipe dream.
