A SCHOOL and community will be getting a new nursery for youngsters.

Based at Bincombe Valley Primary School, Bincombe Buds will be a new provision for two-year-olds.

The building is in the final stages and it will be open to students from September.

The site already has a nursery for three to four-year-olds and this new provision will be for parents in receipt of certain benefits and those on wages under £16,190. There will also be a limited number of paid-for places as well. The new centre is part of a government scheme for two-year-olds and, as there was no other centre like it in Littlemoor, Bincombe School was approached. Deputy headteacher Annette Cobb said it was very positive for people that could not afford to pay for full-time childcare.

She said: “I think it will be a great asset to the community and give the children a great start in life. They will be part of our school and community from the age of two.”

The centre will be run by a qualified teacher and there is a big outside area for children to explore and run about in.

Mrs Cobb said: “There will be lots of outside play and lots of opportunity for exploring and developing.”

The centre opens in September.
