A WEYMOUTH independent school is celebrating following a glowing inspection report.
Thornlow Prepatory School has received a glowing report from the Independent School Inspectorate (ISI), who had four inspectors visit the school over a one week period.
The report describes the school’s teaching, personal development, boarding and partnership with parents as ‘excellent’. Pupil’s learning and the leadership and manage-ment of the school were also highly praised within the report.
Headmistress Naomi Fowke said: “We are incredibly pleased with our recent inspection report and it was only possible because of the dynamic partnership which exists between teachers, pupils and parents.
“A glowing inspection report, however, does not give room for complacency. Our focus will always be, as it always has been, on ensuring that we contin-ually review what we do and how we do it in order to ensure that we continue to deliver the very best education for all our pupils.”
Inspectors praised the school’s small class sizes, commenting: “Thanks to small class sizes and planning tailored to meet their individual needs, pupils of all abilities make good progress.”
Robert Fowke, proprieter of the school, said: “Inspectors are always welcome at Thornlow. The inspectors hold up a mirror to what we are doing now, giving us the opportunity to share with you how we are perceived by the experts.”
