Have you got an interest in children’s future, time, energy and enthusiasm and a desire to make a difference?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the governing body of Southill Primary School at an exciting time in the school’s development.

Members of the school governing board help shape the future of Southill Primary, make positive contributions to pupils’ education and are involved in making important decisions for the school.

If you have a readiness to accept responsibility and an ability to work as a team then you may have what it takes to make a rewarding and effective contribution to your community and to the lives of local young people.

Headteacher Paul Mason said: "Schools need committed and enthusiastic people to help them find a way through the constant change and debate that characterises education.

"At the moment, we have a small number of vacancies at our school for new governors. We need them to play a critical role in the ongoing development of Southill Primary as we look to build on our successful Ofsted inspection last year.

"Although it’s an entirely voluntary role and there is a significant time commitment - both for meetings and for visits to school during the school day - the rewards are many. We’d like to hear from anyone who is interested in making a contribution to their community and helping to improve the lives of our local young people."

If you are interested, Southill want to hear from you. Join them for a cup of tea and a biscuit on Wednesday, January 31 at 5pm to find out more.

Email the school at office@southill.dorset.sch.uk if you plan to attend or for more information.
