STUDENTS have achieved accreditation through a Centre of Excellence for Industrial Liason (CEIL) within their school.

Budmouth College in Weymouth has recognised interns with an award that shows they have ‘professional awareness and competency’.

The youngsters volunteer to intern at the business centre, which is within the school.

They volunteer as office managers, researchers for various projects and work alongside representatives from local companies.

The sixth form students gave a presentation to a panel of employers.

CEIL director Marcel Ciantar said: “This award recognises Budmouth student interns who have successfully shown they have professional awareness and competency, measured against a CEIL benchmark, which they have developed during their internship in the Centre of Excellence.

“Accredited members of the CEIL have been described by local business and industry partners as being ‘HD Ready’.

“The students are professionally aware and if they start working for you, you don’t have to remind them they have to be on time.

“As an employer you know what you’re getting.”

Accredited members are: Jeremy Elliott, Holly Mercer, Matthew Cornick, Amelia Attree, Jack Stone, Emily Robins, Keziah Rookes, Fran Jones, Amber Linney, Catherine Midona, Steph Crosby and Amy Blake.

Those who have completed internships are: Carley Bowey (accreditation pending), Jack Owens, Shannah Cowan, Ellen Buckland, Alice Bowker, Nicole Skipper, Elyshia Neal (accreditation pending) and Kelsey Burnell.
