A NATIONAL E-safety expert visited IPACA.

Ken Cornish is chairman of the E-Safety Development Group, he visited IPACA and met with staff and pupils.

Speaking about his visit to the Portland school, Mr Cornish said: “I really enjoyed my time at IPACA. In particular the excellent ethos that has been created and the wonderful environment in which to celebrate it.

“There is a palpable passion that emanates from the IPACA team that no doubt contributes to its success.”

Director of digital learning and innovation, Gary Spracklen said it had been great to have Mr Cornish visit the school.

He said: “New technologies have become integral to the lives of children and young people in today’s society, both within schools and in their lives outside school.

“The internet and other digital and information technologies are powerful tools, which open up new opportunities for everyone. Electronic communication helps teachers and pupils learn from each other.

“It was great to share with Ken today how these technologies are stimulating discussion, promoting creativity and increasing awareness of context to promote effective learning here on Portland.”
