PUPILS from Knighton House school took an educational pilgrimage to Wimborne Minster.

The four-mile trip was a cross curricular adventure which gave children the chance to learn about geography, science and religious education while enjoying the fresh air and the countryside.

The adventure started at Whitemill Bridge in Sturminster Marshall where pupils studied river features and took some photographs. The children enjoyed glorious weather as they used maps to check their route and identified various plants, trees and berries.

Some blackberries were picked and eaten to keep energy levels up.

The pupils had a game of pooh sticks at Eye Bridge before they arrived at the Minster.

The girls learned about the stained glassed windows, the library, the books and quills and ended their day with an ice cream.
