STUDENTS cooked up a storm when they joined two top chefs for a GCSE practical food technology lesson.
Year 10 cooks from Budmouth College in Weymouth spent a morning preparing two desserts with Masterchef finalist Claire Hutchings and London chef Ibraheem Muslesh, a former Budmouth pupil.
The puddings they created were a ‘cheesecake with a twist’ and a rhubarb, Chantilly crème and elderflower dish.
Claire, who was part of Masterchef the Professionals on the BBC, said: “I have always thought it would be great to interact with students. It gives them an extra passion for the subject and also gives them the practical experience that they can look back on and think: ‘Do I really want to do this?’”
As well as working at Budmouth, Claire and Ibraheem are opening a pop-up restaurant in Weymouth’s Statue House opposite the King’s Statue.
It will open this week and run until the end of August, offering a range of unusual food and flavour combinations.
