PUBLIC service students at Kingston Maurward College got to quiz members of the forces.
Kingston Maurward College level two and level three public services students were treated to the meeting with veteran service personnel from the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, the Army Reserve, Retained Dorset Fire and Rescue Service and Dorset Police Special Constabulary to learn from their vast experience, totalling around 130 years.
The students quizzed the panel before being given information about volunteering in the organisations.
Tutor Phil Cottrell said: “This session is part of the next step and progression events we offer students, so that they choose the right career for them.
“It has demonstrated the types of volunteer or reserve roles they could do which will not only develop themselves but will also benefit the community.”
He added: “Some students know exactly what they want to do, and some like more guidance to help them decide – this sort of event can really help them.”
