A NEW headteacher has been welcomed to a school in Weymouth.

Holy Trinity Primary School has said it is ‘delighted’ to announce the arrival of new headteacher, Fiona Daykin (pictured).

Mrs Daykin was previously head at Canford Heath Infant School, a school she led to an outstanding grading from Ofsted in 2011.

Helen Keedy, chairman of governors said: “We are very fortunate to have recruited such an excellent headteacher for Holy Trinity.

“The governors are confident in the leadership qualities that Fiona has, and were impressed by her proven track record in delivering great results,” she added.

“In the time that Fiona has already spent at the school it is obvious that all the pupils, staff and wider community will benefit from her wide-ranging experience.

Reverend Canon Richard Franklin will be leading a Commissioning Service to welcome Mrs Daykin to Weymouth at Holy Trinity Church on Friday, January 23, at 2pm.

Anybody who would like to join them is welcome to this service.
