A WEYMOUTH school has won a ‘classroom in a box’ as part of a national competition.
All Saints School, Wyke Regis, won 20 HP ProBook 11 Education Edition laptop devices as well as a Leba charging trolley and half a day’s training with Tablet Academy, a leading education consultancy and teacher training organisation.
The prize was awarded to the school by Oxfordshire based leading technology solutions provider European Electronique, in partnership with Microsoft.
The company held a competition for schools to win a Classroom in a Box competition with All Saints picked at random as the winner.
The devices were presented to a group of year seven pupils at the school by James Penny, solutions director at the company.
Headteacher at All Saints, Kevin Broadway, said: “I just wanted to pass on my thanks to European Electonique and Microsoft for the fantastic prize. It will enhance our ICT facilities, enabling hundreds of pupils every week to engage pro-actively in computer based learning.”
Mr Penny, representing the company, said: “It was a pleasure to meet the young people and staff from All Saints School. They were very excited about the learning possibilities provided by the devices. With the growing need for technology to support learning it was clear that the devices were going to be put to great use by the students and staff at the school.”
Mr Broadwey said he was delighted with the prize.
