A NEW headteacher has been welcomed to a Weymouth school.

Holy Trinity Primary School in Weymouth has celebrated the Commissioning of their new head teacher, Mrs Fiona Daykin, at the Holy Trinity Church on Friday, January 23.

The service was attended by the pupils and staff of Holy Trinity together with the governors, friends of HTP, volunteer helpers and parents.

In addition guests from The Diocese of Salisbury, other neighbouring schools and representatives of local councils, including Mayor Kate Wheller, were in attendance. Parts of the service were written by the pupils including the new School Prayer.

Reverend Canon Richard Franklin, a Foundation Governor at the school, led the service which he described as “both inclusive and inspiring”. Mrs Fiona Daykin said: “The welcome that I have received since arriving in Weymouth has been very warm and supportive.

“I am delighted to join the Holy Trinity community. Holy Trinity Primary School is a wonderful school and I look forward to leading it from success to success.”
