PARISHIONERS are invited to explore their identity with a seminar at Dorchester Community Church.

Speaker David Sinclair, from the Wessex Psychotherapy and Counselling Services team, will deliver a talk entitled ‘Who am I anyway?’ at the Acland Road church on Thursday, February 23.

His subject will be an exploration into identity and self-esteem, drawing on his work delivering professional therapy throughout Dorset and Somerset.

Speaking on behalf of the church, Grace Weir said: “A sense of identity is the sort of thing a lot of people really do struggle with. David is a very, very good speaker. He has been to us before and done similar talks on coping with anxiety and coping with depression.

"It is an easy to follow talk, there are not a lot of technical terms. It is just really helpful advice on all the sorts of things people struggle with."

A specialist in treating trauma and abuse victims, David supports people battling a number of issues ranging from addiction to eating disorders.

Grace added: “A lot of people don’t have any sense of self-esteem or self worth. People who have used the the Wessex Psychotherapy and Counselling Services have found it has changed their lives for the better. It helps them feel like a validated, worthy and understood human being.”

The free seminar will talk place between 7pm and 9pm.
