EILEEN Stuckey has been having a clear-out and wanted to pass on these photos of her late husband, a teacher.

Bill Stuckey, who you can see in the 1935 photo standing at the back on the right and in the 1938 photo standing on the right, taught at Weymouth Central Boys’ School.

Eileen, 91, of Shaftesbury, said she wanted to find out whether anyone knew the students in the photos.

Bill Stuckey was a PE and science teacher at the school, which was in Cromwell Road in Westham.

It looks as though he was a very successful PE teacher, because the school appears to have won some sizeable silverware.

Both groups are pictured with the Mark Frowde cup, a trophy for football.

Eileen said: “You can see Bill in both photos wearing his plus-fours. I don’t know much about his time at the school because I didn’t meet him until he left the school.

“He taught at the school on the bridge before. He left Weymouth Central Boys’ School in 1939.

“He was very interested in rugby and football.

“I knew him when I was a child at Sunday School and he used to be the organist.

“His first wife, Ivy Stuckey, who also taught at the school, died. She also used to teach PE.

“After Bill retired he went into the church and became the Reverend Bill Stuckey.

“He died just three weeks short of his 90th birthday.”

Eileen said she has lived all over Dorset and moved to Shaftesbury after living in Wareham.

“I’d be interested to hear from any of the families of the boys if they’re around to find out more about the people in the photo.

“Anyone who wants the photos is welcome to have them,” she added.
