‘WINFRITH: Glimpses of the Past’, is the subject of the next meeting of the Friends of Crossways Library’s local history group tonight at 7.30pm.
Chris Pullen will be taking an illustrated look at some of the major events in the history of this small Dorset village over the last 2,000 years.
The talk will include The Saxons, William the Conqueror and even the Domesday Book.
There are also the triumphs and tragedies of the rich and poor and ‘Thirty Different Ways’ to spell Winfrith and much more.
Everyone is welcome to come along to the library in Old Farm Way, for an interesting evening, good company and a cup of tea, all for just £3 or £2 if you are a member of the Friends.
