CAN anyone help a Mr J Bennett identify some unknown young footballers from this photo of the 1957 apprentice team Elliots, (right)?

The company was formerly known as Bristol’s Instruments and it was based at Lynch Lane, Weymouth, left.

In the back row, from left to right, are Mickey Saunders, Bob Munro, Dave Brown, an unknown player who Mr Bennett wants to identify, and a Jim, but the surname is unknown.

In the front row from left to right we have a Master Stevens, whose Christian name is unknown, Dave Bennett, Graham Morgan, an unknown player, another unknown player and Mickey Rocket.

The Lynch Lane premises have quite a history.

In the 1960s the Bristol’s Instruments Factory was taken over by Telerection Ltd.

The 100 workers at Telerection Ltd on the Weymouth industrial estate, at Lynch Lane, have been put on a four-day working week.

Reason, according to a spokesman of the firm, was the general decline in the demand for television aerials.

The firm hoped that the shorter working week would be only temporary and that further cuts in working hours would not be necessary.
